This Zagora desert discovery tour is ideal for those who want to experience the desert but are short on time. This 2-day desert tour from Marrakech will take you via the High Atlas Mountains and the famous Tizi-n-Tichka pass to the desert just outside south of Zagora.
Day 1: Agadir - Taroudant - Taliouine - Taznakhet - Draa Valley - Agdaz - Zagora
Head from the Atlantic Ocean city for a desert camping adventure and overnight in desert bivouacs, and have an unforgettable desert trip in two days.
The first day will start with a pick up from your accommodation in Agadir then head to some Berber villages our way while leaving Agadir towards Zagora, via Taroudant and Taliouine the capital of saffron and Taznakhet. Stop in Taliouine and learn about saffron and local Berbers. Then a lunch on the way to Tazenakhet with delicious Berber gastronomy.
Passing through the Darra Valley, a long river which is formed by the confluence of the Dades River and the Imini River. arrival in Zagora for the camel ride to reach the desert with a beautiful sunset landscape to meet the desert camp staff and spend the night in the desert with the instruments of Sahrawi music.
Day 2: Zagora - Agdz - Taroudant - Agadir
The next day, you will depart from Zagora. We take you on a camel to watch the sunrise, after a breakfast we drive back to Agadir passing through fascinating landscapes and amazing destinations passing through Agdz.
Arrive in Agdz which is a small town in the middle of southern Morocco, enjoy the view of the Atlas Mountains and discover the ancient Amazigh architectures with the ancient Kasbahs. See also the Jbel Kissane which is famous for its Tajine dish shape. As per the meaning of its name, Agdz means "place of rest", is a well-deserved name and it is a place where you will have a short break for lunch.
After lunch, drive to your accommodation in Agadir via Taznakhet. You can ask the driver for stops if you need antique and lovely rugs. Then we move to Taroudant which is a small city in the sub valley, this city is known as the “grandmother of Marrakech” because it looks like a smaller Marrakech. Arrival in Agadir in the evening.
